A labeled storage location for organising inventory in a warehouse.

A bin is a specific, labeled location within a warehouse used to store inventory items. Bins are often part of a structured location hierarchy (e.g., Aisle > Rack > Shelf > Bin) and are essential for accurate stock control and efficient picking. Each bin typically holds one SKU or a group of items, and is tracked in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

For example, a picker might be directed to “Aisle 2, Shelf B, Bin 07” to collect 3 units of SKU123. By storing products in clearly defined bins, warehouses can improve inventory accuracy, reduce mispicks, and support faster fulfilment—especially when combined with digital picking systems.
