Pick and Pack

The process of selecting and packaging products for shipment.

The process of selecting and packaging products for shipment.

Pick and pack refers to the two core steps of order fulfilment: retrieving items from storage (picking) and preparing them for shipment (packing). In digital warehouses, this process is often supported by a WMS, handheld scanners, or pick-to-light systems to increase accuracy and speed. For instance, once an online order is placed, a picker receives a digital picklist, retrieves the items, and a packer prepares the order for dispatch with correct documentation and labels.
